Ik heb deze windhoos meegemaakt. Ik toen was bij mijn grootvader op
vakantie en zat met hem in de studeerkamer van Rijksweg 55 toen tijdens
een opkomende storm ik plotseling door het raam een zuil van water zag
die uit het Damsterdiep werd gezogen. Toen het voorbij was en naar
buiten ging trof ik richting de brug veel schade aan. Volgens mij was
o.a. het huisje van timmerman Dreise ernstig beschadigd, ook stond er
een DAM bus, waarschijnlijk geparkeerd voor de woning vlak naast de
Bolten waar chauffeur Bulthuis woonde geheel scheef op de Rijksweg. Ik
ben niet naar het dorp gelopen maar hoorde dat er veel schade was en
veel spullen de lucht in waren gezogen. Ook bij de omgeving van smid
Knol bij het plein bij de brug was volgens mij veel schade.
De windhoos kwam uit het zuid-westen, ging over het land van grootvader
waar een zichtmachine stond die zelfs van zijn plaats was gekomen. De
boerderij is er volgens mij schadevrij afgekomen en ook het huisje waar
we de hoos langs zagen komen. Dat laatste is eigenlijk onbegrijpelijk
want de afstand tot de hoos was daar nog geen 50 m.
